Belgium hospital taps Aerscout, improves patient safety and security
AeroScout announced that Belgium-based hospital AZ Monica has deployed its real-time location system to automate temperature monitoring and monitor patients’ whereabouts.
Using AeroScout’s temperature monitoring solution, the hospital is able to automate the observation of refrigerators containing medications, vaccines, blood and other critical items. Temperature tags measure refrigerator temperatures on a defined interval and transmit the data wirelessly to AeroScout’s MobileView software, alerting appropriate staff if temperatures deviate from the specified range.
In addition, the hospital is using AeroScout’s patient elopement solution to alert staff when at-risk patients leave defined areas.
AZ Monica is also in the process of rolling out patient flow and staff safety applications. Clinicians will use tags with call buttons, which can be triggered to alert other staff members in emergency situations. Alerts will transmit the real-time location of individuals requiring assistance. The AeroScout solution will also track and monitor patient flow in the operating room department.
