Indian RFID solutions provider Bartronics announced that it has been selected for an RFID project from Singapore-based mobile phone wholesaler Avitar Group to automate its distribution process.
Bartronics will develop a solution for tracking outbound phones in Avitar’s warehouses. Each mobile phone box will be tagged with an RFID label that corresponds to an International Mobile Equipment Identity number. The Bartronics solution will involve automatic scanning and reading of mobile phone boxes stacked up on a trolley for outbound dispatch.
At the warehouse’s exit Bartronics will set up a Gantry RFID reader to confirm the correct quantity of outbound phones for each shipment.
Avitar, who moves close to 40,000 mobile phones per month, expects the RFID system will help streamline its processes and improve delivery turnaround time.
