Bank of New Zealand introduced a new dual-interface chip card to give customers the convenience of contactless payments. The new Flexi Debit Visa cards allow cardholders to wave the Visa payWave-enabled cards over a contactless acceptance terminal. The new cards will allow contactless purchases wherever the contactless symbol is displayed. Purchases in over $80 will require a PIN to be entered.
