BadgePass, Digital Identification roll out single step smart card encoding

BadgePass and Digital Identification Solutions have integrated BadgePass’s Identity Manager credentialing software with Digital’s EDIsecure XID 8300 Retransfer Printer for single step smart card encoding and card issuance.
Identity Manager is part of the BadgePass suite of security solutions that also includes Visitor Manager, Access Control and SmartReg. In Identity Manager, one can enroll user information and capture photos while also adding card information like card number and access privileges.
“We saw a big problem in this industry with people having to issue ID cards in one place and activate them in their access control system somewhere completely different,” said Lindsay Cornell, BadgePass director of sales.
By incorporating smart card enrollment with the 8300 printer, users can now read the card number during the print process and realize the benefits of single-step card issuance.
“Incorporating smart card enrollment in our Identity Manager solution allows us to fully bridge the gap between ID badge issuance and Access Control,” Cornell added.
The 8300 is a retransfer card printer engineered for corporations. With its XID retransfer technology, the printer comes ready for plug and play, producing mag, contact and contactless encoding as well as inline lamination.
