Itautec and Lumidigm have partnered to create a system that utilizes biometrics and a QR code for secure withdrawals at ATMs.

To use the system, a customer would have a banking app on his phone and use it to select how much money he would like to take out of the ATM. He drags that amount to a wallet icon, and this process generates a QR code that contains the transaction details.

Once at the ATM, the user selects the bar code option, holds his phone up to the camera so it can read the QR code and then authorizes the transaction through a fingerprint reading. The machine will then dispense the cash.

This system is designed to make the ATM transactions safer and more convenient.
