Three of Asia’s economic power houses recently held meetings to discuss a possible RFID tagging system for the countries’ imports and exports. RFID experts from Japan, China and South Korea met in Seoul along with representatives of private organizations in the three nations.
According to South Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the trilateral meeting was held to discuss a plan proposed by the South Korean government to create a linked system between the three nations to enable RFID tracking of imports and exports. If the initiative became reality, it would theoretically create a major demand for RFID technology in the Asian markets.
