Asco has implemented an RFID solution developed and installed by Zetes-RFIDea for prompt tracking and to improve management of its machining supports.
The company develops, produces and processes high-precision steel and titanium components for the aircraft industry. The real-time updating solution will further assist in reducing the number of lost assets and enable personnel to quickly respond to audit requests.
Zetes-RFIDea performed several tests on different tags, undertaking analysis of the environment and processes to ensure tags and hardware were resistant to machining processes, such as permanent exposure to cutting oil and spattering of glowing metal fillings.
The company developed three different software modules for the project: one designed for creating objects, one for maintenance and one for audits. All three modules are accessible via portable RFID terminals. Fixed readers were also installed at the entrances and exits of buildings in order to easily locate the supports at all times.
