Savi, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command (JMC) for its automated information system, supporting depot-level ammunition logistics functions. The contract is a continuation of a nine-year Savi project which has yielded the Munitions Total Management Systems-Field Module (MTMS-FM) software system.
MTMS-FM provides extensive process automation for employees at all ammunition locations throughout the United States. Munitions supplies are tagged with 2D bar codes or active RFID tags, enabling real-time data to be scanned into Savi’s software system.
MTMS-FM users can automatically manage, update and reconcile inventory records, generate receipts of incoming supplies, and keep track of internal warehouse movements and outbound shipments. The information is also integrated with the U.S. Army’s Standard Depot System software for network-wide visibility. The software application automates about 40,000 munitions movement transactions per year
