Arkansas prison to install biometric checkpoints

Officials for the Arkansas prison system have reported that they intend to begin utilizing biometric systems as checkpoints for employees, according to a WXVT 15 article. Many of the prisons already use similar systems for visitor check-in at the prisons, however, they expect to begin rolling-out the system that tracks employees soon as well.
In addition to utilizing fingerprint scanners, they are also reportedly looking at RFID tags for employees that would track them automatically at certain checkpoints. The move is believed to be a response to a high-profile escape of two inmates convicted of murder that were wearing guard uniforms.
