Apriva, a provider of secure information and wireless transaction solutions, announced that its Apriva Wallet mobile commerce platform is now available to through the company’s nationwide network of merchants.
Apriva Wallet can be used for a number of services on iPhone and Android handsets, including transactions at the point of sale, free loyalty programs for customers and merchants, coupons, ticket purchase and secure storage of driver licenses, ID cards, health care information, passports, and other cards that a consumer would normally carry in a physical wallet.
According to Apriva, the Wallet is “infrastructure-agnostic,” meaning it can operate with any payment processor, financial institution and wireless carrier. It also works with current magnetic stripe payment technologies, NFC and EMV standards, allowing merchants to leverage the service without having to change their point of sale environment.
Consumers can download the Apriva Wallet at any participating merchant by providing their mobile number at the point of sale, or through various app stores.
Additional features of Apriva Wallet include: automatic electronic receipt delivery upon completion of transactions, integration with social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and location-based services that enable merchants to send geographically-targeted offers.
“The majority of mobile wallets that are in the market today offer only a limited set of services,” explained Paul Coppinger, president of Apriva. “We designed the Apriva Wallet from the ground-up as a standalone solution that encompasses all of the features required for a rich mobile commerce experience.”
