AllTrust Networks, developers of biometric check cashing systems, has announced that its fingerprint-based check cashing service called Paycheck Secure has been implemented at six La Chiquita Express check cashing locations in Maryland.
La Chiquita Express is setup as a financial service center aimed at the Hispanic population who will only need a photo ID, two finger scans and provide a digital photograph to sign-up for the new biometric service.
La Chiquita hopes the new biometric system will help move lines quicker as it will make the manual identification verification that Chiquita used to do unnecessary. In addition to simply checking for the correct identity, AllTrust’s system also looks for known fraudsters that have been passing bad checks in the area. The Paycheck Secure system will not accept checks from these individuals.
