Aeroexpress, operator of air rail link services in Moscow, Russia, has partnered with multinational financial services provider Visa to launch new a card processing system using Visa payWave contactless payment technology.
Now, thanks to the payWave cards, tickets are one-touch-accessible at all Aeroexpress offices and ticket vending machines. The contactless-enabled Visa payWave offers card holders simplicity, safety and convenience.
Riders no longer need to give the cashier their card. To purchase Aeroexpress tickets via the vending machine, riders simply select the fare and method of payment, and place the card face down on the reader. A travel document is issued immediately after the sound signal confirms payment; no PIN is required for payments up to RUB 1,000 (approx. USD $30).
The introduction of the new payment technology for tickets, together with Visa, is not the first experience for Aeroexpress in terms of its partnership with contactless payment systems. Since the end of 2011, the MasterCard PayPass contactless payment technology, which offers advantages when it comes to paying MasterCard cardholders, has been successfully operating at Aeroexpress ticket terminals.
