TMC 2008 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition
CALGARY, Alberta–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Advanced ID Corporation (OTCBB: AIDO), a leading developer of radio frequency identification (“RFID”) technology for livestock tracking, pet recovery and supply chain applications focusing on the tire management industry, today announced that together with Patch Rubber Company it has launched the industry’s first “Guaranteed Life of Tire” program. The tire identification solution, which uses Advanced ID’s UHF RFID Tire Tag and Patch Rubber’s rubber patch technology, will be showcased for the public at the TMC (Truck Maintenance Council) 2008 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL, from February 4-7, 2008.
Patch Rubber Company, a division of Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE), will be exhibiting at the event and Advanced ID will have its products at the Myers booth. The provider of the most comprehensive tire repair and retread product line in the United States, Myers also will exhibit at its trade show booth the tire inspection solution marketed as Fastcheck, which is a product spearheaded by Advanced ID’s Pneu-Logic Ltd. subsidiary.
“Advanced ID and Myers’ Patch Rubber Company are pleased to introduce the world’s first retro-fit UHF tag solution that will remain on the tire throughout the tire’s casing life,” said Dan Finch, President and CEO of Advanced ID. “With the recent introduction of Advanced ID’s low cost PR500 UHF tag readers, we are confident that this necessary and affordable solution will take tire tracking and management to a new level.”
Mr Finch continued, “It is also exciting for us to announce that in conjunction with Serialio.com we will be introducing the Fastcheck program at the TMC trade show. Fastcheck is the culmination of Pneu-logic listening to its customers’ needs and delivering a solution in a simple “plug and play” application that is delivered on an SD card. Fastcheck is ideally suited for the single fleet inspector but is scaleable to multi-user, multi-depot customers for a variety of fleet inspection functionality and compliance. Through both of our latest product launches, we are proving that Advanced ID is providing the tire industry with the most advanced technologies to address the important needs of safety and fleet management.”
The UK-based Pneu-Logic subsidiary of Advanced ID has in conjunction with Serialio.com (pronounced “Serial I O”) of Santa Barbara, CA, introduced Fastcheck, the world’s first non-subscription Tire Inspection program. Fastcheck is a mobile PC tire inspection solution that does not require expensive server applications or costly subscription charges. The program includes the patented Pneu-Logic Tread Depth and Pressure Probe combined with state of the art capture and communication software with key components from Serialio.com. Fastcheck takes the hassle out of fleet inspections and produces information, such as basic condition of tire reporting, which can be directly imported/exported on-site to/from a standard spreadsheet format. Fastcheck delivers the most comprehensive and affordable tire inspection system in today’s ever demanding and competitive tire market.
RFID technology will enable market participants to inexpensively track tires for passenger safety precautions as well as provide for automotive industry administrative benefits. The tire tag solution from Advanced ID is based on proprietary RFID tag readers developed by the Company and RFID tag technology obtained through its partnership with Hana Group, with its licensing agreement with Michelin for its 915 MHz tire tag for the transportation industry. Advanced ID provides both the tire tag that is embedded in the tire during the tire curing (manufacturing) process and also the tire patch, which is cold vulcanized on the tire after manufacture or for replacement tires already in the field. Both applications provide a life-of-tire, unique ID for the tire which can be used for inventory purposes, tire maintenance with the Company’s Pneu-Logic tire inspection tools division, theft prevention, and as a resource in tire recall situations.
The Ultra High Frequency (UHF) 500 Series RFID reader was recently introduced by Advanced ID and establishes the company as the industry’s low cost provider for a fully functioning device capable of reading and communicating with applicable RFID tags made by any manufacturer in the world. The 500 Series reader is a robust, long read range, multi-protocol UHF RFID device intended for outdoor and indoor use. It employs Advanced ID’s state of the art technology combined with high performance, reliability and ease of use. The 500 Series complies with both ETSI (Europe) and FCC (USA) registrations and supports multiple tag protocols, including ISO18000-6B and EPC class 1, Gen 2, and is upgradeable for future protocols. The unit reads tags, reads and writes user data, and has the ability to program EPC class 1, Gen 2 numbers into tags.
