ADT Security Services has announced a new addition to its Sensormatic series of RFID-oriented solutions. The Sensormatic Quadrel T Series is a high-speed automatic RFID label applicator capable of applying up to 100 labels per minute.
With its new device, ADT is targeting packaged goods manufacturers who are increasingly required to meet the RFID implementation standards set for suppliers by Wal-Mart, the U.S. Department of Defense, and other major business partners. For these suppliers, a reliable and fast automated label applicator is a necessity for RFID implementation, since hand-application can be costly and also inadvertently damage the labels.
“Automatic label application is essential for large-scale RFID deployments because placing labels on cases and pallets by hand can be expensive and time consuming,” says Randy Dunn, director of ADT’s RFID Division. “High speed application is another cornerstone in the widespread adoption of RFID.”
The ADT applicator also features self-diagnostic capabilities which enable a plant manager to quickly identify and correct label application issues, including label shortages or timing issues between the conveyor belt and application speeds.
