Aconite announced that it will provide Trans Link Systems (TLS) with software and consulting services to assist TLS in the migration to a more secure card platform for e-ticketing.
TLS, a joint venture set up by the five largest Dutch public transport companies, designed, implemented and now operates a single, national payment system for public transport e-ticketing in The Netherlands based on the OV-chipkaart contactless smart card.
TLS is now preparing to migrate from Mifare Classic cards to a new, more secure card platform, requiring the development of a new Central Security System, as well as new Secure Access Modules (SAMs) on rail and metro station gates and contactless terminals on buses and trams.
Initially, the defined SAM issuance requirements will be implemented in October 2010, with Aconite’s software solutions. In the next phase, Aconite’s specialist consultants will assist TLS to define the requirements for the new Central Security System and prototype new components.
