2014 Sesames awarded at CARTES Secure Connexions

The Sesames Awards were gives out at the start of the 2014 CARTES Secure Connexions conference. The only company to win more than one award was Syniverse in the Retail/Loyalty and Trusted Internet/Authentication categories. The complete Sesames award winners include:
Hardware
Oberthur Technologies with Lasink, a technology that integrates color laser inside polycarbonate documents. The technology enables personalization of a color picture with a single infrared laser inside a 100% polycarbonate document — passport or card. This technology also provides a barrier against fraud and authentication to the naked eye or under a magnifying glass.
Software
Transport for London, nominated by MasterCard, with Future Ticketing Project – Pay As You Go Travel with Contactless EMV. Customers can now travel around London using a contactless payment card by simply touching in and out at the start and end of their journey. The cost is charged directly to their card account, which means no more queuing for tickets.
Identification/ID Cards/Health/E-Government
The Emirates Identity Authority with The UAE National ID Authentication Service; the National Validation Gateway is a program that supports e-Government in the UAE. It provides trust services to all organizations and government agencies within the UAE by providing real time identity verification, validation, multi-factor user authentication capabilities and digital signatures for digital transactions using the National ID Card.
IT Security
Morpho with MorphoTablet, a compact touchscreen device that guarantees secure mobile data operations using biometrics — fingerprint and facial recognition — and cryptographic functions.
Transportation
Fidesmo offers a connected card that is managed from mobile devices or the Internet. It enables every phone to become a sales channel and for travelers to buy and upload tickets whenever and wherever.
Banking/Payment/E-Transactions
Worldline with Certified Customer Reviews a system that unlocks the issue of trust in online reviews. By linking through a “proof of purchase” the consumption of a service and the delivery of online reviews, the “certified reviews” service enables issuers and merchants to benefit from trusted and certified online reviews.
Mobile Communications
INSIDE Secure with MatrixHCE, a mobile implementation of host-card emulation based payment schemes that facilitates the adoption of software-based mobile payments and aims to shorten time to market for payment card issuers and cloud system providers.
Retail/Loyalty and Trusted Internet/Authentication
Syniverse with Syniverse International Fraud Intervention Solution, an opt-in scheme to authorize payment transactions when a cardholder’s mobile device is detected in the same location they are attempting to make a purchase, this ensures the card is being used in the same location and prevents fraud.
Manufacturing & Tests
COMPRION with OTAbility, a toolbox of software modules that facilitates tests of components involved in over-the-air communication chain between backend servers — Trusted Service Managers — and secure elements — physical or embedded. This test environment can be set up in a lab, enabling reproducible test scenarios including failure reproduction.
Discovery
Dynamics Inc. with Open Loop/Closed Loop Multi Network Co-branded Card, a device that includes multiple buttons on the face of a card each associated with a different account. A user selects an account by pressing a button and the account information is written to the Electronic Stripe, EMV and NFC applets. The card can then be used at any reader globally.
