Hong Kong-based Advanced Card Systems (ACS) released its first LCD-equipped NFC reader, the ACR122L VisualVantage.
Designed specifically for e-payment applications with NFC phones or other devices, the ISO 14443-compliant reader supports Mifare, FeliCa and ISO 18092 NFC technologies. The ACR122L is equipped to operate in three NFC modes: read/write, card emulation and peer-to-peer.
The reader also features anti-collision and selective card polling technology to ensure communication with the correct card or device and is equipped with three ISO 7816-compliant SAM slots for boosted security.
Gilbert Leung, ACS’s Sales Director, comments, “With its LCD, the ACR122L provides users with the advantage of having a visual guide on the contactless operations they are performing. Ultimately, it presents a more interactive experience for the users and caters for a wide variety of applications where such an advantage is important.”
Additional features include multiple language support, four LEDs and buzzer capabilities. ACS is also including a Software Development Kit to facilitate development of various applications, such as payments, customer loyalty programs, public transportation, and physical access control.
