The awards were presented at the Borderpol North American Meeting on Sept. 10 at the DuPont Circle Hotel in Washington, D.C. The judges ultimately selected five awardees from more than 50 nominations received.

Gemalto’s Breach Level Index reports 888 data breaches in the first half of 2015, compromising 245.9 million records worldwide. This is up 10% from the first half of 2014. The number
of breaches was flat compared with the last six months of 2014 that saw 892 breaches but increased by 10% compared to the 803 data breaches in first half of 2014.
