SecureKey simplifies mobile app security

SecureKey has revealed enhancements to the company’s cloud-based briidge.net Connect multi-factor authentication service.
The latest version of briidge.net Connect incorporates a new mobile Software Developers Kit that will enable developers to build more multi-factor authentication capabilities into both iOS and Android mobile apps. The Connect SDK enables developers to embed utilities like QuickCode secure PIN and zero-touch device authentication into a variety of apps including retail banking, mobile payment, content subscription, social media and more, simplifying user experience and alleviating the password management burden for service providers.
The new Connect SDK offers universal security for any mobile app on both the Android and iOS platforms, including the new iPhone 5S and 5C devices. Increased mobile app security means that service providers can introduce higher-value services, attract additional customers and gain a competitive advantage.
Additionally, the new QuickCode feature included in the Connect SDK enables organizations to replace intricately typed usernames and passwords in their mobile apps with fast, easy to enter, server-verified PINs. The user QuickCode acts as a multi-device PIN synchronized across all of the user’s enrolled devices, and provides a consistent experience across the devices they use to access services.
It is thought that strong multi-factor authentication will pave the way for the exit of the much-maligned password. Accompanying the shift away from passwords is a greater focus on cloud-based services, an area that SecureKey is honing in on.
