Stanley Healthcare Solutions and GetWellNetwork Inc. announced that they have integrated Stanley Healthcare’s real-time location system (RTLS) with GetWellNetwork’s Interactive Patient Care solution to keep hospital patients and their families informed and secure.
The integration has already been successfully deployed at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel in Pasco, Fla. where it is being used to improve both patient satisfaction and security by identifying caregivers that enter patient rooms and tracking when they visited.
Caregivers wear Wi-Fi RFID tags that recognize who they are and signal when they enter and exit patient rooms. The specific caregiver’s name and photo, along with information about his or her role, are then displayed on the patient’s in-room video monitor. This makes it easy for the patient and family to know who is in the room and to verify the identity and function of the caregiver.
This information is also recorded so that the patient’s family can look back to see when caregivers visited. A family member could check to see if the doctor has visited yet or see the last time a clinician checked in on their loved one, reducing confusion and uncertainty with patients’ families.
