Minneapolis-based software developer NetProf has launched a centralized management software system that supports full identity management and user provisioning.
Called OmnID, its goal is to help educational administrators maintain accurate student data systems that provide user identification, systems access, security and ease-of-management.
“OmnID gave us a single source for data management in a console that can be operated by a user with no programing or scripting experience,” said Andy Hakala, Hopkins Public Schools in Minnesota. “In addition to meeting our technical needs, OmnID offered a significant cost savings and freed up our district level techs from having to troubleshoot user creation issues.”
OmnID also examines and synchronizes database security structures to ensure that student information systems are synchronized with a school’s student information system. According to NetProf, this centralized approach helps ensure data accuracy, security and access control. It also decreases calls and subsequent troubleshooting by the school IT staff.
