GE Healthcare, Cisco technology platform improves patient flow and asset management
GE Healthcare and Cisco have joined forces to help hospitals improve the quality of patient care, increase efficiency, and reduce costs by enabling them to better manage the flow of patients, staff and medical equipment.
Hospitals will now have the ability to deploy GE’s AgileTrac platform, integrated with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network and Cisco Context-Aware Software, to track patients, staff and equipment with various network technologies.
The combined GE and Cisco solution will bring together location information about Wi-Fi clients, tags and wired devices, with proprietary real-time location system technologies, regardless of the network provider. Hospitals will be able to manage multiple location technologies on one platform, and still leverage their existing investment in Wi-Fi technology.
The Bon Secours Richmond Health System in Richmond, Va. and Tennessee-based Hospital Corporation of America are both currently tracking assets and patients with the GE-Cisco solution.
