ZoomaDog launches 16-port, battery powered RFID reader with built in cellular radio

ZoomaDog Technologies unveiled its new battery powered ultrahigh frequency Gen 2 RFID reader, the ZoomaDog ZD-5100 Coda module, which features 16 antenna ports and a built in GPRS cellular radio.
The new reader is was introduced for the company’s ZD-Item Intelligence turnkey solution, one which provides centralized item-level inventory information on a hosted Web server using RFID technology.
Using the built in GPRS cellular radio, with SIM card, the reader sends RFID data to a hosted web based business intelligence software platform.
The 16 antenna ports are all capable of reading RFID tags from any antenna and the device includes digital signal processing technology for improved performance in read rations and sensitivity, and it also supports dense reader mode.
The reader has been optimized by ZoomaDog for remote shelf monitoring applications and is designed for deployment in a variety of supply chain management and automatic inventory applications.
