New Dogbone Freeze RFID tags withstand extreme cold

UPM Raflatac has announced the release of the Dogbone Freeze, its new RFID tag designed for use in frozen environments. According to UPM Raflatac the Dogbone Freeze tag can withstand temperatures of –40C/F, making it applicable in tracking frozen food pallets through supply chains.
Global retailer METRO has already begun using the new tag in a pilot project at a distribution center for frozen foods in Hamm, Germany and reports “excellent results,” according to a press release by UPM Raflatac.
The Dogbone Freeze offers up to 240-bit EPC memory and features a locked 64-bit tag identifier including a 32-bit unique serial number.
