MaxID, a developer of rugged computing devices, has announced that they have integrated a fingerprint sensor from Lumidigm, a developer of biometric solutions, into their iDLMax series of handheld identity management devices. The iDLMax utilized Lumidigm’s Venus fingerprint readers which use optical imaging for authentication.

The Venus readers is capable of obtaining high-quality images in demanding environments where the iDLMax is intended to be used. In addition to reading fingerprints, the iDLMax is capable of utilizing a number of other badge and smart card authentications.
