ID authentication provider Validity and Hengbao Corporation, a provider of smart card products and technologies, have joined GlobalPlatform as an Observer Members.

Validity provides fingerprint sensor solutions for mobile handsets, tablets and notebook computers. Hengbao, which operates across the banking, telecommunication, identity and Internet of things markets, will direct its attention towards GlobalPlatform’s Task Force initiatives. These groups define specific market requirements and assess how GlobalPlatform’s Specifications can be advanced in line with future needs.

Validity will focus its efforts on the work being done by GlobalPlatform’s Advisory Council and Mobile Task Force, which seeks to characterize the business needs of the secure mobile services ecosystem in the hopes of establishing an agreed infrastructure.
