Tyfone, In-Q-Tel provide U.S. Government with mobile security in cloud and NFC transactions

Tyfone has announced a strategic investment and technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel (IQT) that will bring mobile security in both cloud and NFC transactions to the U.S. government.

IQT — a nonprofit organization that pinpoints technology solutions for use by the U.S. government — will use Tyfone’s mobile security and NFC platform in an attempt to solve a number of government and commercial identity issues.

Tyfone’s NFC platform will provide its hardware that ensures smart card security and NFC to virtually any mobile phone, tablet or PC. Tyfone’s mobile platform software has securely processed more than 7 million financial transactions, and the partnership with IQT will expand that figure to include government transactions as well.

Cloud support will enable for anytime, anywhere access to transactions, but also raise unique concerns in terms of security and privacy. However, the addition of a smart card to existing mobile devices using Tyfone’s tech ensures distributed, strong authentication and secures access to any cloud-based services regardless of the network.

Tyfone’s mobile platform secures a range of mobile channel access and wallet uses, including access to financial data, corporate and government networks, Web login and transactions, as well as physical transactions using NFC.

More information about Tyfone and IQT’s security objectives can be obtained upon request here.
