Identification solutions specialist Trüb will supply the Guinean government with a national identity solution.
The new identity cards will be issued to each citizen of Guinea when they register to vote. The cards’ initial use will be as an ID for voting purposes, but there are plans to extend the cards’ utilities to act as a national ID and issuing a card to every citizen— registered to vote or not.
Guinea is in need of an ID upgrade and the Trüb initiative will mark an advancement in identity management never before seen in the country. The new IDs will provide each citizen with a singular means to prove their identity.
Made of 100 % polycarbonate material and fused under heat and pressure and without any additives, the ID cards guarantee a lifespan of 10 years. The cards are personalized using laser engraving, which protects against the chance of reproduction or duplication.
