The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has signed a contract with MorphoTrak to upgrade its biometric fingerprint system.
Under the terms of the contract, Morpho will be providing the TBI with the Morpho Biometric Identification Solution (MorphoBIS). The new system will increase matching accuracy through more advanced matching algorithms and a larger fingerprint database capacity. Agents will also be able to check if a DNA sample is required when they book people on criminal charges.
TBI says in a press release that it chose this system because its service-oriented architecture easily fit into the agency’s existing IT architecture.
TBI will also be able to incorporate additional features such as face, tattoo and iris recognition, as it sees fit.
