Hungary’s State Printing House has formed a partnership with mobile operator Telenor Hungary to pilot NFC-enabled mobile payments.

The partners are preparing a solution that will enable pilot participants to use their mobile phones in place of bank and loyalty cards at the point of sale. The State Printing House will be responsible for providing the security infrastructure used in the project, as well as the required mobile applications and related support.

During NFC testing, Telenor will also participate in the Mobile Wallet Association’s NFC payments consumer test program alongside financial institutions and commercial service providers.
