Tagsys revealed deployment of its “RFID for Fashion” solution at European jean supplier, Rica Lewis.

The solution is set to include a vast array of utilities including, printable ultra-high frequency RFID tags for existing apparel labels, RFID printers to program and print data, RFID tunnels to manage incoming and outgoing merchandise, portable RFID readers to perform inventory checks, and fixed RFID stations to prepare and verify orders.

With numerous retails stores spread through Europe, Rica Lewis’ RFID infrastructure is integrated into the existing system through e-connectware, Tagsys’ RFID service to monitor RFID data, allowing suppliers and retailers to acquire real time inventory.

Every sales manager of Rica Lewis is issued a portable RFID reader, which enables on the sport inventory checks of items currently in stores. Reducing the amount of time usually associated with manual inventory processes, this allows sale managers to focus more on customer interaction and merchandising.

Data collected is also sent to the logistics center, to allow for a much more efficient order preparation and shipping process.

With the use of RFID, the entire supply chain is optimized to better manage processes in the distribution center and provide greater product availability at the point of sale.
