Swivel adds telephony option to authentication product

Authentication provider Swivel Secure has released version 3.9 of its Swivel authentication product. The new update extends the product’s deployment options to include a telephony option.

This new option enables system administrators to set user configurations based on their security needs. The PINsafe protocol enables integration of outbound or inbound voice calls into the login process in order to allow remote access to corporate, Web and cloud applications. Options range from a “press any key” response to an out-of-band, two-way call.

The telephony feature is able to replace an SMS with an automated interactive call to a user’s mobile or landline phone. The user confirms his identity through a voice response or by using the phone’s key pad.

Other additions to Swivel 3.9 include improved configurations and reporting functionality for streamlined installation and administration. It also has improved support for the Leap, SMTP SSL and Federated Identity standards.
