Smirnoff, a brand of vodka owned and produced by the British company Diageo, deployed an interactive RFID social media mechanic at its London-based Nightlife Exchange Project.

Using RFID systems operated and provided by FISH Technologies, Smirnoff enabled guests to update their Facebook status in real-time. Guests were each presented with RFID key fobs which could be linked to their Facebook credentials and share experiences with friends worldwide.

The guests the engage brand ambassadors or walk up to special kiosks were the could tap their fob to update their status, post “Likes” and Photos to Facebook in real time – thus growing the awareness of Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project (SNEP) through the Facebook network.

The Smirnoff project saw countries worldwide create unique events using RFID technology to connect the Smirnoff Global Community.
