Motiv, an IT security specialist and reseller of authentication products by SecurEnvoy, has replaced its own hardware tokens with SecurEnvoy’s SecurAccess SMS and soft token two-factor authentication system.
Although Motiv still sells hardware tokens for authentication, it decided that SecurEnvoy’s two-factor product was ideal for in-house use, particularly for remote login.
SecurEnvoy’s solution uses mobile phones as authentication tokens by having SMS texts containing one-time passcodes serve as an authentication factor. To get around SMS delivery delays and spotty network coverage, each text contains three pre-loaded one time passcodes.
Clients can also to use a soft token application for authentication, which comes as a download for many mobile devices, including iOS, Android and Blackberry systems.
Customers can buy the SecurEnvoy system through a perpetual license that includes and annual support fee. Customers are responsible for covering SMS charges.
