SecureKey Technologies has contracted with Q9 Networks to provide a high-availibility solutions for its cloud-based authentication platform.

The cloud-based authentication is part of SecureKey’s Credential Broker Service, a Canadian operation that enables Canadians to use their online banking credentials to access Web-based federal government services.

Under the terms of the deal, Q9 will be responsible for high-availability co-location services and managed bandwidth at two Q9 data centers. This will provide production and disaster recovery services.

SecureKey selected Q9 based on its track record, reputation and portfolio of services. The company designs, builds and operates its data centers to meet a high level of IT infrastructure requirements, such as increased power and cooling. Q9′s network is protected by SLA-backed uptime and is constantly monitored through a main control center.
