Arab News reports that Saudi Arabia is now mandating that foreigners provide fingerprints and other biometrics to enter the country.

The mandate is covered by the government Cabinet’s approval of an amendment to Article 4 of decision N. 202 on 22/6/1430H which stipulates that biometric identification, including fingerprints pictures or other methods, is required for visa applicants to the country, including those who are visiting for Haj and Umrah pilgrimages.

Foreigners seeking entry to Saudi Arabia will have to provide fingerprints through special agents in their own country first.

The mandate does not include those holding diplomatic and special passports.
