RFID technology deployed in Australia libraries

Self service kiosks powered by RFID technology have been official launched Australia’s Greater Taree City Libraries, reports The Manning River Times.

Based in New South Whales, the libraries now have an easy-to-use self service machine that visitors can use to check-in and -out books. The system also handles returns by placing them into bins that automatically scan books as soon as they are returned, which enables librarians more time to spend with library visitors.
