Boston-based Revosys has announced that it will implement NFC payment processing in its upcoming “Interactive V5 In-Taxi” advertising system.

According to Revosys, the upgraded Interactive V5 will allow passengers to pay for fares with NFC-enabled mobile phones, contactless credit and debit cards, and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

The solution also features a touch screen for PIN entry, sparing transit companies the expanse of purchasing an external pin pad or additional credit card terminals.

Revosys is also adding a Digital Video Recording surveillance feature that provides a live video stream of the taxi cab, bus, train, or vehicle. According to Revosys, this feature will provide video evidence in the event that a crime is committed inside the cab.
