MorphoTrak enables time and attendance, access for railroad company
MorphoTrak partnered with Identity One to deliver a time & attendance and biometric access control system to a North American freight railroad company.
More than 250 Outdoor MorphoAccess 520 (OMA 520) biometric readers were deployed across the continental United States over a six-month period. This solution includes custom web-based enrollment at more than 70 locations and integration into existing human resource and payroll systems. Ruggedized with an IP65 weatherproof rating, the OMA 520 is well suited for the railroad industry. For particularly harsh, cold conditions the OMA 520 can be supplied with a built-in heater for extreme low temperatures.
With the new system, this company enjoys improved security, as well as streamlined human resource and access control processes. From a single enrollment, an employee’s secured biometric record is distributed for access control, time & attendance and compliance applications. In harsh industries such as this, only the highest performance biometric technology is effective due to the condition of workers’ fingerprints.
HID, Proxama partner on NFC marketing schemes
HID Global and Proxama, a provider of mobile proximity marketing, mobile wallet and payment solutions, announced they have partnered to create a solution enabling rapid deployment of secure mobile web-based coupon and loyalty schemes.
The solution combines the loyalty capabilities of Proxama’s TapPoint platform with the security of HID Trusted Tag Services to deliver a frictionless consumer experience while eliminating fraud and abuse from retail coupon and loyalty programs.
To participate in the coupon and loyalty programs, consumers interact with an authentic Near Field Communication (NFC) tag from HID Global. Trusted Tags feature security and privacy attributes that change on every tap, providing true customer proof of presence and making each tap uncloneable. As a result, Proxama’s retailers and brands are protected from situations wherein one transaction can lead to rewards being collected multiple times.
Gemalto unveils polycarbonate printing technique
Gemalto launched Sealys Color in Polycarbonate, a system that enables high-quality color photographs to be permanently embedded into polycarbonate documents such as IDs, driving licenses and passports.
Images up to 1200-dpi resolution have been made tamper-proof through a laser-engraving process, which applies markings deep into the document. Polycarbonate documents are already recognized for their security and durability and now Sealys Color in Polycarbonate adds another feature to Gemalto’s range of options to better meet the evolving demands of government authorities and national printers.
The use of high-resolution color portraits is well appreciated to facilitate more accurate on-the-spot identification at border checkpoints. Additional security features include deep-set embedding of microtext in the image to make alteration virtually impossible. In addition, the new technology enables personalization to be performed independently of the document manufacturing process, so as to preserve complete flexibility at issuance.
