PSCU Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest credit union service organizations (CUSO), has announced a partnership with Andrews Federal Credit Union to launch a new EMV credit card geared toward international travelers.
According to PSCU, the roll out is targeted towards credit unions with large overseas membership like Andrews FCU, which is based in Maryland but has multiple branches in Europe.
The new GlobeTrek Visa Rewards Card, which features EMV technology as well as magnetic stripes, will enable frequent travelers to take advantage of the dominant payment form on both sides of the Atlantic.
Andrews says they will initially offer the new card to current cardholders living near their six branches in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
Michael Kelly, President and CEO of PSCU Financial Services, comments: “Offering EMV cards with PIN approval allows credit unions to compete effectively with large international banks. This card is a significant advantage for our credit unions that serve government, military or professional members who travel internationally.”
