Proxima and Phase IV Engineering announced a partnership in an effort to produce high-frequency RFID enabled sensing products, based on the new Melexis MLX90129 integrated circuit design.

The MLX90129 consists of an internal temperature sensor, two external sensor ports with differential inputs to accommodate a wide range of sensor types, and a standard ISO15693 high frequency RFID interface.

The MLX90129 is designed for data logging and passive sensing in high moisture or sensitive applications, such as cold chain, pharmaceuticals and construction; those which require contactless data transfer.

Attempting offer new solutions to old problems, Proxima will combine its experience in 13.56 MHz high frequency RFID readers with wireless and embedded sensing solutions from Phase IV.

Also under the agreement, Proxima will offer the Phase IV SensTag brand sensor product along with a variety of reader and software options.
