Technology-focused private equity firm Francisco Partners announced it’s acquisition of Cross Match Technologies, a provider of interoperable biometric identity management systems, applications and services.

In business for 16 years, Cross Match has more than 5,000 customers worldwide in a number of industries such as transportation, critical infrastructure, financial services, health care, education, law enforcement and government. Its client list includes the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and U.S. State Department, as well as several state, local and foreign governments. It has over 250,000 products in use in over 80 countries.

With the acquisition, Cross Match will leverage Francisco’s expertise to further develop its technologies to meet market requirements for future biometric tools.

Cross Match received advice from Lazard and legal counsel from Hogan Lovells US LLP. Kirkland & Ellis provided legal advice to Francisco Partners. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
