Symantec has released new pieces to its cloud portfolio of services, reports Sci-Tech Today. These include a cloud information protection platform, a service roadmap and additional cloud security, produced through a partnership with Salesforce.com

The new security product is called O3 Cloud Identity and Access Control and incorporates cloud security through access control, information security and information management.

IT departments have the capability to add their own policies for the cloud and can enable SSO for all Web applications. Authentication occurs through a company’s existing identity authentication system. O3 allows for context-based authorization, password management and federation services.

With the Salesforce.com partnership, Salesforce customers can use those identities to access their cloud services.
