IDBLUE unveiled a mobile, Bluetooth ultra-high frequency RFID reader for smart phones and tablets, followed by the announcement that Mygrant Glass Co. Inc. plans to deploy the IDBLUE.UHF reader in each of its almost 600 delivery vehicles nationwide.

With support for iPhones and iPads, the pen-shaped reader can be used to navigate and enter data without using a finger, a feature especially useful in situations where the user is wearing gloves.

The Hayward, Calif.-based company will use IDBLUE readers with iPads to confirm customer deliveries and automatically update its own inventory database, thus creating greener, paperless and more efficient deliveries.

The handheld IDBLUE.UHF RFID reader is also designed for precession asset identification and tracking applications in health care, retail, utilities, aerospace, oil and gas.
