MBNA Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation, came together with Visa to celebrate a milestone in rolling out contactless technology to UK consumers.

MBNA recently achieved its two millionth Visa contactless credit card, further supporting efforts in the evolution of contactless payments and technology in the UK.

Contactless payments and technology are designed to help consumers with payments through ease, security and value, whether made through a card or a phone.

Visa Europe added that by the year 2020 it expects the world of payments to develop so much that half of all transactions over its network will be through a mobile device.
