Lieberman Software has released additional support for its Enterprise Random Password Manager product that provides authenticated enterprise access for government and military settings. The product can now leverage major smart card and certificate formats.
The new enhancements enable Enterprise Random Password Manager to use digital certificates to identify users logging into systems and control user access. Digital certificate use can replace the need for or can be used in conjunction with a username and password combination.
This system intends to help government agencies support PIV, as well as corporate use of smart cards and PKI certificates for authentication. Smart cards can be optioned to both identify and authorize specific usage capabilities.
To log on to the Enterprise Random Password Manager authentication-enabled interface, the browser and Website ask the user to select the proper certificate for access rights to ERPM. Digital certificates can reside on a local machine , USB stick or smart card.
Lieberman will be showcasing this new product at this week’s Microsoft TechEd 2012 conference in Orlando.
