Juniper’s rugged notepad integrates authentication

Juniper Systems has completed testing and validation on its Mesa Rugged Notepad to be in full integration with the Apriva Authentication Suite, reports Communications Technology.

Based on the Windows Mobile OS, the notepad uses the Apriva Reader wearable Bluetooth smart card reader, the Apriva Guard and the Apriva CSPware. The reader accesses authentication data via a Common Access Card or ISO 7816-based ID card. Until authentication is successful, the Guard keeps the notepad locked down. The CSPware provides AES 256 encryption for data transmission.
