Intuit provided a pilot program in the U.K. that will enable small businesses to easily, securely and cheaply accept card payments from anywhere. The new Intuit Pay solution comes from the makers of QuickBooks and will include a free mobile app with a low-cost chip and PIN card reader.

The Intuit Pay solution— being tested by hundreds of small business across the U.K.— is designed for for both brick-and-mortar locations as well as mobile business professionals. Allowing merchants to be paid onsite or from the home or office, the Intuit Pay solution accepts both credit and debit card payments.

The in-person payment method accepts credit or debit payments anywhere using a smart phone or tablet. The Intuit mobile app includes a chip and PIN card reader, while the online payments are also accepted.

The Intuit Pay solution is also mindful of security concerns, encrypting all customer data and meeting the unique requirements of the U.K. payments industry. Visa and MasterCard have also approved the solution for chip and PIN payments.
