IDScan.net announced Apple’s approval of VeriAge, an ID scanning app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that is now available through iTunes.

VeriAge is able to scan IDs that contain either a magnetic stripe or a 2D bar code. Its new release has the capability to detect all American and Canadian drivers’ licenses and state IDs. Along with age verification, the app also captures basic customer demographics.

“Sometimes a client may need to supplement his main scanning system or is in an environment where such a system is inconvenient. Well, what can be more convenient than an iPhone?” said Greg Wood, a company spokesperson.

The app costs $99.99 and is compatible with iMag, UniMag and Linea Pro readers.
