iD1, a developer of biometric technology solutions, has announced the release of a palm vein-based authentication devices designed for use as physical access control gates in airports.

The technology, which was showcased at the Airport Show 2011, utilizes PalmSecure contactless technology in conjunction with TruSec identity credentialing software to handle authorization of entry into secure areas or passage through checkpoints in an airport.
